What is included in the audition registration? You will receive your audition material packet and feedback from the Blue Devils Staff. We highly recommend taking advantage of the discount offer for auditions by registering for the BDPA Virtual Audition Academy first, and then using the code provided to register for auditions.
UPDATED 5/17/21: Please familiarize yourself with the details below before registering. We have plenty of spots available for brass performers. You may complete your audition remotely or in person at our upcoming rehearsal on May 23 in the City of Industry.

How do the auditions work?
Your 2021 audition starts with your access to Pacific Crest Virtual Studio, our library of educational and performance-related content. The audition experience should take 14 or fewer days from start to finish.

What is the deadline?
The season is nearing, so time is of the essence. You should start the process as soon as possible.
Note: We are no longer accepting drum major applications. If you are interested in auditioning for our battery percussion section, please contact us at battery@pacific-crest.org to confirm open spots.
With so much uncertainty, what am I actually auditioning for?
We expect to produce a drum corps ensemble up to the maximum size allowable. Our plan is to perform locally as well as in Indianapolis the second week of August for the DCI celebration of marching music and the kick-off of DCI’s 50th anniversary. (See Schedule At-a-Glance below)

Our 2021 schedule is broken into phases that can modified or stopped based on the status of pandemic restrictions.
Phase 1: Winter and Spring Education (February through June)
Remote meetings, masterclasses, and sub-sectionals as well as in-person rehearsals in April, May, and June.
Phase 2: Preseason Training (July 5 – August 8)
During this 35-day period, we plan to coordinate the field show and prepare the other material to fill out a 45-minute set.
Phase 3: Local Performances (July 24 – August 7)
Field shows, indoor concerts, and live streaming performances in Southern California.
Phase 4: Indianapolis Trip (August 9 – August 15)
The corps will fly one-way to the Indy area on August 9. Tuesday and Wednesday would be rehearsal days, and we would perform in the DCI shows Thursday through Saturday. All performers will fly home (on their own) Sunday, August 15.
UPDATED 3/28: Tuition is $2,850 plus the cost of your flight for the Indianapolis trip and your flight home from Indianapolis. You should plan for other expenses, e.g.brass mouthpieces, costume undergarments, shoes, laundry money, etc.
